Fight back?

I've been abused by Mr___ a lot. His sister Kate came to visit. I was told by Mr___'s sister to fight back. She told me to not put up with his abuse. I need some advice on what to do. Should I fight back? Or should I just let him do it?

    I say that you fight back. You can't let him treat you like that.

    I would be careful. He could hurt you or even kill you if you fight back.
